ok, not technically a bungalow, but great A&C style house. this has recently been refurbished fresh paint, new landscaping, on a brick street no less.

So technically a bungalow is just one story? Is there semi-official lingo for 2 or 2 1/2 story A&C homes?

I like the little attic window on this one, like a little lookout up at the peak. I assume there is a fireplace w/chimney, hidden on the other side. Looks like a pyramid shade A&C lamp in the front window.

I think this is a great idea! Might have to try this on the Metal/Jewelry forum.

Have to find more space to store my images.

i guess this one would be a bungaloid, show characteristics of a bungalow but exceeding the size and more that one and a half stories.

lots of folks include four squares in their teminology. i just call the whole bunch arts and crafts style. i just like to look at them.

An impressive span across the porch. I expected to see colums on either side of the steps. Wonder what size beam was used.

must be hefty. i have seen a lot that sag in the middle when they try to span that kind of distance, or you see what are obviously not original turned columns to jack up the roof.

When I first redid my porch on my 1921 Aladdin WABASH XVII(see Kit Homes) there was a 3in sag in the original beam of 2 fir 2X12s, one of them had huge knot right in the centre. Further reading revealed that the famous "Dollar A Knot Guarantee" only applies to visible siding and trim. I put in one more 2X12 but it eventually sagged again.
At this point I brought in the big boys and we put in one 2X12 engineered beam that is supposed to only sag 1/1000, which is what it did, less than 1/4in in the 16ft between columns.
