this bungalow is in a "new urbanist" development here in louisville. the idea is to create a community complete with business district, school, residential etc based on urban concepts. the house are narrow lot with sidewalks, curbs and garages in the rear on alleys.

the business area is traditional storefront with either office or residential over.

there are about forty residents complete from bungalows to full blown victorian mansions, federalist style, brownstone, etc.

you can see more about the plan at

http://www.nortoncommons.com/

about the house: this is new construction, brick painted. i had a chance to go through the house during construction. the den and dining areas have beamed ceilings. there was high wainscotting in the foyer and hall when i was there but not sure how far they were going to do it. overall very nice quality that will be reflected in the price which i expect will be $300k range.

nice house and overall norton commons is a very good idea. i went to the site and read some of it but one question, are the house styles restricted to certain areas or can a bungalow be right next to a brownstone etc?

im not sure about that. i can ask one of the inspectors for the construction. i havent been too interested other than overall concept and the few A&C houses. it is way over my budget.
