Is there a company that either can replace or repair old door mechanisms? I have a few doors where either the twist-latch is stuck, the tongue that holds the door closed won't work, or both. Thanks

Try Crown City Hardware (Pasadena CA). They have a large selection of reproduction hardware and the quality is also there. They are not cheap though. You can order on line.

Hello,

you might take the lock apart, it may just have a dust bunny in thee keeping it from closing. A little grease will go a long way.

There should be 2 screws holding the lock in place.. And then there are several smaller screws holding the unit together.

WD 40 works good.. Also Parifin wax works well, won;t hold the dust like grease will. I use parifin on my tools because saw dust won;t stick to it..
