i took the first picture above standing in the driveway of an adjacent church. i have since leared that the house is empty and for sale. the church is negotiating for the purchase with intent to demolish the house and expand their parking lot.

they have already purchased two smaller more none descript bungalows behing this house and posted "intent to demolish" notices on them as well.

i have suggested through a friend of the pastor to make the houses available to be purchased and moved it possible. i havent heard back on that idea.

what a loss this will be.

even sadder, is that i also learned the neighborhood just recently turned down a vote to have the area declared a preservation district.

Hello Don,

That's a shame, remind me not to go to that church, because that's a sin. Just what we need is more parking lots.

Reminds me of the Yates Hotel in Syracuse that was full of Gustav Stickley that was torn down to put up a parking lot.

Even if the home was taken apart, and reassembled is better then just torn down.

Don,

What a loss it will be if they are successful in tearing it down. The house looks pristene and well cared for.
