i'm thrilled to see the V&A exhibit coming so close to me in Indianapolis. i will go at least once and maybe more during its run.
a local dealer also said the los angeles exhibit was also going to travel and possibly go to Cincinnati. can anyone confirm this? it would be great to be able to see both shows. thanks (this posting has no political or religious content, does not intend to demean or criticize anyone, and is meant only for the comsumption of true A&C devotees) |

attached is a link to the indianapolis museum of art events calendar, exhibit opens sept 25.
i spend my day writing, negotiating and administering contracts, so i am familiar with the art of disclaimers (this posting is declared attorney/client privilege and may not be copied, reproduced or used in any way, in part or in whole without the written agreement of the author and the transfer of at least one genuine van erp, kipp, jarvie or stickley museum quality item, the authenticity and value to be determined appropriate by the author. these terms are non-negotiable and binding on the party, their heirs and or assigns from here to eternity.) |

also forgot to mention the Overbeck pottery show at the indianapolis museum, a group of sisters that made wonderful pottery near indianapolis.
this show is going on now and through the fall. |

Don,
This month's issue of the magazine Style 1900 has a wonderful article on the Overbeck sisters worth reading. Fred Fred (Moderator) http://fredz49.blogspot.com/ |

Hello Don,
I truly like your mannerisms and way with words. I feel that you are a well educated individual and have a lot to offer these forums. I would love to attend the Indianapolis show with me only about 150 miles away in central Ohio, but due to circumstances it is impossible for me to attend. I might try to get to the one in Cincinnati, Ohio. Respectfully, Ralph Jones www.ralphjoneswoodworking.com |

i just read the style article the other day, just after i posted the blurb about the exhibit, looking forward to seeing the actual pieces.
also, as an aside, i picked up the newest american bungalow and was shocked to see a letter i had sent months ago appears in the letters section. it is great to see such publications include articles and photos submitted by readers and not be focused only on the professional writers. that reinforces the true meaning of the movement. |

I don't subscribe to either Style1900 or American Bungalow (yet
Congrats on the letter Don. |

wow, tough call. i hate to pick one over the other, they are both great.
i guess i would go for American Bungalow. it seems to have more articles, more about the houses. both are very indepth, great writers and lots of input on various aspects of the movement. i still get mine at the newstand or local dealers. i need to do subscriptions to both. |

Don is right. AB covers the houses well and Style has more indepth articles on metal and pottery. I get both at the newstand as well.

neither on cost that much more at the store that through subscription and it gives me an excuse (as if i need one) to visit and see what else i find while i am there. two of my favorite things to do, visit bookstores and rummage through antique dealers.

just saw a blurb in Style 1900 that the LA exhibit will be in Cleveland rather than Cinncy.
it will also be in san francisco later in the year before closing. |

Hewn,
Please consider membership in the forum. We can always use new members who are active in the AC Movement discussion and study. Style 1900 usually covers a wide variety of exhibitions and yearly events in their magazine. I will see if I can post them here. Fred Fred (Moderator) http://fredz49.blogspot.com/ |
