I am totally on target for this. Instead of Brimfield this is closer and easier for me to get to. I didn't know about the 5000 Eek extra dealers! What's up with that - extra fields along the access roads?

The trip will be an excuse to drop by Dalton's as well, and maybe pay tribute to Columbus Ave like Steve did a while back, haha.

Hi Stonecat,

If you plan on attending you should get an early start, because the dealers start setting up a week before the main show starts. There are at least 10-15 large fields around the main show, and plenty of garage sales & sales that run up and down route # 20 from Morrisville to Madison. Bring good walking shoes. You won't be disappointed. Big Grin

So are there separate start dates for the extra fields, like Brimfield, or is it just a free-for-all? Any web sites for the other fields? This is sounding better all the time. I like the early admission thing for the main show, but maybe it's better to target the non main show stuff - thoughts?

Hi Stonecat,

There are no separate start dates, but its safe to say that if you hit the surrounding area first Sun.-Mon. Before the main show for best bargains, its basically the whole town and then some (wall-to-wall). I don't think there are any sites for the other fields, as they don't advertise like the main show.

If you do a googleearth or mapquest search, it will give you some idea of the size of the area and surrounding fields.

This sounds awesome. It's too bad I will be in northern NY the first week of July instead of the third week of August... cnyartmetal is there anything I should be aware of in July in the area?

Stonecat - you should definitely do the Dalton's, Columbus Ave thing!

Google is blurry, already tried it, but I'll see what Mapquest has.

What about accomodations? Where's the best location to stay? I'm thinking probably a motel deal where they will let you store a couple things for a couple days.

Hi Steve06,

There's another show at Longbranch Park on Onondaga Lake park thats pretty good, but nowhere's as big as Bouckville. Not sure of the exact date, but think its July. Have to get back with you on that one.

There's another show that runs a week or two after Madison-Bouckville that is in Clerence, NY. just out of Buffalo which is a good size show too. with nice A/C goodies !!

Then after Labor Day is the Brimfield show, which is always good.

Hi Stonecat,

Not sure about the Motels, never had to use one, only 30 minutes away for me. There are Hotels & Motels in Syracuse, Utica and some right on route # 20, plus they have camping areas by the show, and many come with campers and RVs/

Here's one of the fields that opens earlier in the week - looks like its right across from the main Madison show; this was the only one I could find any extra info on however...

Clarence - has a permanent set-up as well as the Spring show; haven't been for a couple years (about 2hrs away for me) but really should go down and combine it with a visit to East Aurora to see what's new

Hi Stonecat,

Quaker Acres west is almost across the street from the main show at the crest of the hill, and there's another large field across from them with just about the same amount of spaces.

I know about the permanent setup at Clarence, It's been just about two years for me too.

Hope you get to visit the Roycroft Museum around the corner from the Inn, its a good tour, and recommend it. They have a nice range of Roycroft pieces decorating the bungalow.
