The Queen of Pacific Homes, Rose Thornton, is on vacation looking for kit homes in Virginia so her co-author will take this issue on.

This residence is undoubtedly a Pacific Ready Cut Model #401. It has the same rounded entrance hood that blends upward in to the roof, symetrical windows accentuating the entrance door, and the small hooded window that illuminates the dining room.

The #401 was a popular model. You might want to look around the neighborhood for more Pacific Homes. When Rose and I were in LA researching the book we discovered that where there is one Pacific Home, there are typically others!

San Diego?? How wonderful that you're finding these homes in that area. Dale and I found two #401s in Southern California. We found a lovely (and nearly original #401) in Pasadena and the second (and third) house was near Beverly Hills.

Thank you for responding. I have located many homes I believe to be PRCH. A few still look like the photo's in the catalog and unfortunately not in very good shape. I would like to get your opinion on a few of the homes before I go poking around any further disturbing the owners, most of the craftsman and spanish revival style are in 92104 (North Park) and 92116 (Normal Heights). If you are willing....should I post them here, or can I send them via email?

Thank you
